V8 Sydney NRMA Motoring & Services 500
It was another great weekend at the V8 races for the Pacific Hoists Team, with a record number of customers turning out to enjoy the weekend. Perfect weather across both days saw a few eager fans arrive earlier to the Homebush track to secure good positions for the rest of the day, including around corner one which saw a lot of action across all racing categories.
On the track Nandi Kiss and his team were off to a rocky start when engine problems, earlier on in the day, confined Car 24 to the pits for Race 1 on the Saturday.
The bad luck continued Sunday when first lap chaos set the Dunlop series off to a slow start. Driver Markus Zukanovic of Action Racing crashed his new FPR Falcon, and an early collision at the first corner between the Gulf Western Oil and Rev Trans WA Teams resulted in the Safety Car being deployed until Lap 7, due to extensive damage to the barriers.
Sherrin Rentals driver Steve Owen eventually took out first place in Race 2 of the Homebush event on Sunday, with Dale Wood for GB Galvanizing/ MWM announced as the overall 2013 Dunlop Series Champion with a total of 1772 points.
Pacific Hoists Fantastic Four played the role of hosts for the weekend with Peter, Richard, Marije and Chris organising the BBQ, setting up the Meet and Greet with Nandi and even managing to sneak a few extra customers into the Pitts this year, thanks to the hospitality of a few other racing teams in the Dunlop Series.
Overall it was a great weekend of V8’s, sun and BBQ’s, and the perfect way for Pacific Hoists to farewell Nandi Kiss and the Dunlop Series in our last race together after almost 5 years. A big thank-you goes out to Nandi Kiss and his team for allowing Pacific Hoists to be part of the great V8 Supercar experience in firstly the Utes and then the Dunlop Series. And a big thank you to all customers who over the years have helped make our race days the experience it has been. We leave with a lot of fond memories, good photos and great experiences! Thank You.
Thank you all and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
