Round 3 in the Dunlop V8 Supercars Championship last weekend and Fredrik Lestrup together with the Pacific Hoists and R-sport team were in Western Australia for the Perth 400 at Barbagallo Raceway. With a record number of guests in attendance, both the team and Fredrik were looking forward to the weekend ahead.
Building on the progress made in Winton the team found further pace and had a more solid weekend altogether at Barbagallo Raceway. After adjusting some balance problems which occurred in the practice laps where Fredrik finished 17th and 19th, he qualified 18th overall for race 1 on Saturday.
In race 1 Fredrik was able to gain a few spots and made his way up to 15th position, where he finished the race. Issues with the rear tyres and a safety car brought out onto the track for the last few laps meant he was unable to challenge for further attacks up the field.
In the second race on Sunday he started in 14th position after another driver pulled out of the race. Maintaining a good pace, he proceeded to climb to 13th which was a season best so far in the third weekend of the season.
“I’m happy we managed to have a solid weekend although I badly want to get into the top 10 which we have the pace for. After some adjustments after practice we had a good first race and I could gain a few positions early on but unfortunately the rear tyres went off too early. Finishing 13th in the second race was an encouragement although I really wanted to get into top 10. Still it was my best race finish so far and we are slowly showing progress.”
All in all it was another fantastic weekend for the team and the 100+ guests who attended the race day to support Fredrik as he slowly battles his way to the Top 10 of the Dunlop Series. A big thank you goes out to all the guests who attended the Race weekend as well as the Pit Stop Challenge on the Wednesday at the South of Perth Yacht Club. And even bigger thank to the kids and families who attended our Charity day which was filled with face painting, goodie bags and balloon shaping fun and the opportunity for all the kids to get their hats signed by Fredrik and a photo in the car.
Thank you all for a great weekend and see you all again in Townsville!

Customer Feedback from the Perth 400 Weekend
“Many thanks for the invitation to join you folk and the opportunity to enjoy a great day at the races.
Well done on your choice of driver (or should I say ambassador!)
I had my 2 young boys with me and Fredrik had endless patience with them while he entertained them during their ‘sit’ in the car, all this while fielding my somewhat more technical questions. What a great bloke!
Interaction with Fredrik’s Swedish mates also added flavour to the experience and I think he did a great job of the driving too.
Please pass our thanks and regards on to Fredrik and his mates and the team”
Hadn’t been before and wasn’t really sure what to expect but……
We had the best day and I really must ask you pass on our compliments to all involved. A great well run day and was even better to see the team and Fredrik race!
Was a sensational day and many thanks from up for your hospitality and the opportunity.
My son won’t let go of his Fredrik signed Pac Hoist hat!”
