New Team, New Driver, New Car
Pacific Hoists are back again, with a new team, new look, new driver and new car in the 2014 V8 Supercars Dunlop Series!
This year Pacific Hoists have joined forces with the Rsport Race Engineering Team, owned by Mark Robertson. Mark’s 14 year experience in the Dunlop Series began in 2000, when it was called the Konica Series and in which he won the championship together with Dean Canto.
Mark’s data and engineering services for other V8 Supercar teams will be a great advantage with our new Holden Commodore racing car. The ex-Garry Rogers Motorsport car was built in 2010 and debuted for the Enduro Races that same year. The car was driven by Michael Caruso in the 2011 and 2012 season; before the new COTF regulations were introduced in V8 Supercars in 2013. Since its delivery to Rsport Race Engineering in August 2013, the car has been fitted with a Walkinshaw Performance engine package. It will make its Dunlop Series debut in 2014 at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, in the hands of Fredrik Lestrup.
Fredrik Lestrup is a 29 year old racing driver from Stockholm, Sweden. His career in motorsport began in 2005 when he joined the Junior Touring Car Championship in Sweden. After having graduated to the Swedish Touring Car Championship two years later, Fredrik moved his career to Germany where he raced for several seasons in the MINI Challenge. He then followed seasons in the Swedish and German GT Championships; coupled with endurance races in Europe and Dubai. This included seven 24-hour races at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, in Dubai and Barcelona. Besides racing Fredrik also works as a race engineer and driver coach.
Fedrik’s extensive driving history makes him a good contender for the 2014 Dunlop V8 Supercar series which is the second highest level of touring car racing in Australia and a second tier championship for V8 Supercar competitors.
With seven race weekends ahead, including the legendary Adelaide, Bathurst and Sydney circuits anything is possible in the Dunlop Series. Pacific Hoists is looking forward to a great year with the new team and we hope to see you at one of the upcoming races!!
