It was an action packed weekend at the Sucrogen Townsville 400 where Pacific Hoists played host to customers happy to endure the warm conditions and watch the action of the V8 races live with the Pacific Hoists & Nandi Kiss Racing Team.

The weekend kicked off with Friday afternoon hot laps which were thoroughly enjoyed by a few lucky customers as they sped around the Townsville track; with one passenger maybe getting a little more than they bargained for as the speed of their hot lap left them a little speechless by the end of it.

Customers were greeted Saturday morning by our Pacific Hoists Team John and Graham as they led everyone to the Pacific Hoists marquee for the first Dunlop Series qualifying lap of the day. Nandi placed in 29th position in the qualifying lap, 3.9374 seconds behind 1st place. By Race 1 he had moved 4 positions to 25th clocking in a fastest lap time of 1:18:6676.

Sunday promised a lot more excitement on the track as customers arrived at 8:30am and got settled into their positions to cheer on and watch Race 2 of the Dunlop Series. By Race 2 Nandi had moved down a position to place 26th but with a faster lap time of 1:18:5935 overall.

Unfortunately Race 3 saw Nandi meet a dust filled demise as Jim Pollicina of Greg Murphy’s Racing, collided with the Pacific Hoists car taking out Nandi and his car in Lap 2. For first hand footage, please click here.

All in all another successful weekend at the races, with the Pacific Hoists & Nandi Kiss Racing Team providing all guests with an experience to remember including a great bbq lunch and hands on tour of the car and insight into the world of V8 racing.

Round Results:  29th with 36 points

Thank you for providing the wonderful day yesterday. The boys were impressed that they could have a look at a V8 Supercar close up. It’s a shame that Nandi was taken out and could not complete his race. Thank him for his time as he was very welcoming to all of us and happy to answer all our questions. Thanks again for a great day.

Just a quick note to say thanks for the Townsville 400 V8 ticket plus the drinks & BBQ on Sunday, I had a great day.
